Planned Event - Auckland West DC link Nov 27, 20:00 - Nov 28, 04:00 NZDT
Service(s) Affected: Core Network
Customer Impact: 2x brief periods of packet loss during the outage window as traffic re-converges.
Details: Due to construction works, the fibre linking our Auckland CBD datacenter sites via West Auckland to our Albany, Auckland datacenter site will be offline whilst it is physically relocated. The West link carries a significant volume of internet and WAN traffic for multiple customers. We have redundancy via our Auckland East DC link and services should automatically fail over which will cause a brief period of packet loss as this occurs, and again when the West link is restored. We're anticipating the physical work will occur between 8pm-9pm and take around an hour, but the entire outage window still stands.

Customer Impact: Active call drops, phones unregistered and inability to place calls for approximately 5 minutes.

This was due to a server process crash. Engineers are looking into the cause and any required patch/resolution.
